Computer Tips to Help Your Child

How to use the computer correctly! It is important that we follow all rules when using the computer. If you ever have a question, ASK!

Saving a Document It is always important to save any work on the computer! Make sure you look to see where you are saving the document and choose a file name that you will remember.

Make it easier on yourself by having a good understanding of the way the computer works. When working on a program sometimes you need to make the screen you are working on larger or smaller. Sometimes you may want to look at two screens at the same time. Other times you may want to just minimize a screen so you can go back to it later. You may even want to close the screen you are working on.(Note: Once you close a screen you will lose any information not previously saved.) Let’s see how we can do all of these things using three simple buttons!

CUT – COPY - PASTE Cut – If you select the cut button it will remove the text box or image completely. Copy – If you select the copy button the computer will save the text or image in its memory until you select where you want that same image or text box to be pasted. Paste – Once you have chosen something to be copied you will paste it wherever you wish by selecting the paste button.  Each one of these commands can be selected by right- clicking on your mouse or going to the file button at the top left-hand corner of the screen.
