1 Cale lives in the U.S.A. He wants to learn more about the government of the U.S.A. He asks Mrs. M for help.

2 Mrs. M and Cale get on the computer. They work together. Cale asks questions. Mrs. M helps Cale find answers.

3 Q: Who is our government ? A: Our leaders are our government. The president is the top leader. We vote for the president. We vote for other leaders to help the president.

4 Q: Where is our government ? A: Our government is in Washington, D.C. The president has an office there. Many other leaders work there too.

5 Q: What does our government do ? A: Our government works to help the people. Our government works to make the rules for the U.S.A. Our leaders work together to make rules that keep us safe.

6 Q: Why do we need a government ? A: We need someone to take care of the people. We need someone to make sure the people are happy, healthy and free.

7 Q: How can we help our government ? A: We can work together. We can follow the rules.

8 Cale learned a lot about the government of the U.S.A. Cale is glad to live in the U.S.A. !
