Governor’s Office – Coastal Activities The Executive Assistant to the Governor for Coastal Activities position was established in 1989 Mission: to provide leadership and support to the CPRA and to direct and coordinate the development and implementation of policies, plans and programs which encourage multiple uses of the coastal zone and achieve a proper balance between development and conservation, restoration, creation and nourishment of coastal resources.

Governor’s Advisory Commission MISSION: - Advises the Governor and the Executive Assistant on integrated coastal activities relative to the overall status and direction of the state’s coastal protection program. -Develops advice with respect to the identification and resolution of conflicts among agencies, stakeholders and any other activity which might conflict with the integrated coastal protection efforts.

Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority MANDATE: To develop, implement and enforce a comprehensive coastal protection and restoration master plan in order to provide the state with comprehensive coastal protection.
