Step #1 Check to make sure that you have the correct number of copies of the lyrics. You need a copy for everyone in your class.

Step #2 Introduce the Music as Poetry Assignment by handing out a copy of the lyrics. When everyone has a copy, provide the class a brief description on the artist or band. 3

Step #3 Play the song aloud for the class and have them follow along with the lyrics. Do not show the video at this time. 4

Step #4 Show the video of the song. 5

Step #5 Present your analysis to the class. Be sure to include all five steps in your analysis. Speak clearly. Provide eye contact. Keep a good pace. Do not speak too quickly.
