Context Clues By Mr. Warren

A context clue is a hint in a sentence about the meaning of the sentence. They will give you hints about the word or meaning you don’t know. There are several types of context clues; today we will be exploring antonym context clues. Antonym context clues contain a single word that has an opposite meaning somewhere in the sentence or paragraph. Ex: My brothers often argue with each other, but my sisters agree on everything. Fill in the blank based on the bold antonym context clue provided. 1. Byron was uncertain about the question, but he gave his answer as though he was _______ of it. 2.
