 What grade do you want to receive in Science for 4 th quarter?  What grade do you want to earn on your Unit 6 exam?  What specific actions will you need to take to achieve this goal?  How will you feel if you achieve these goals, and how will achieving these goals help you to achieve future goals?

1. Name and describe 2 different types of pollution? 2. What is a watershed? 3. What is an example of nonpoint source pollution? 4. What is an example of point source pollution? 5. What is the #1 cause of water pollution in North Carolina?

 Use notes and returned assignments  You may collaborate with other students › This means you may explain and answer questions; however, you will lose points if you are COPYING!  Unit 6 Assignments passed back.

A.Create a crossword puzzle using all of the vocabulary words. To solve the crossword puzzle you will need to have the definitions too! A.Write 5 questions that could end up on the test next week based on the study guide we created. A.Write a mini-lesson about the water cycle, ocean layers, shorelines, or water pollution for a student who was absent. (5 or more sentences) A.Create a POSTER to hang up in our classroom that tells everyone about the water cycle, ocean layers, shorelines, or water pollution. Make sure it is detailed for each vocabulary word. You may want to provide examples! A.Unit 6 Review Sheet (Required) A.Come up with 2 truths and 1 lie about processes or information from each objective: the ocean layers, shorelines, or water pollution. Explain why each lie is a lie! A.Create a Rap or Poem about the water cycle, ocean layers, shorelines or water pollution. Make sure you use all of the vocabulary words. A.Imagine you are a droplet of water. Write a letter explaining your adventure through the water cycle. (5 sentences) A.Color-code the processes of the water cycle using the all of the vocabulary words from that objective. Include descriptions of each process. Show your work clearly and carefully. You must complete 3 squares by the end of class. Just like tic-tac-tie, create a diagonal, vertical or horizontal line when picking the 3 squares (You must include middle square). Choose two different topics for your choice activities & staple to Review sheet.

 Pull a question from the bag and hand it to your partner, without looking. The Q & A are on the strip of paper.  If you pull a paper with “boom” on it, your partner will yell BOOOOOM and you lose all your questions back to the bag.  You will have 15 minutes to play with your bag (Bag 1 or Bag 2). After 15 minutes you will trade bags with a pair near you.

 Draw & label the steps of the water cycle  Draw & label the 3 layers of the ocean; explain how salinity, temperature, & density vary between these 3 layers  What are the short-term and long-term reasons for shoreline variations?  What are the 3 layers of an aquifer, and which layer is impermeable?  What are the 5 major sources of water pollution?

 Make a to-do list every day  Use spare minutes wisely  Find the time of day when you are most efficient  Review your notes every day  Get a good night’s sleep  Communicate your schedule to others  Don’t waste time worrying or procrastinating  Determine your priorities & goals!
