Rationale A coherent and co-ordinated approach to the identification and support of students at risk An effective internal communication system Able to track progress and outcomes for students at risk at whole college level STARs is a critical element of the college’s approach to ESM

When are STARs identified? Pre-entry - during admissions interview process - self disclosure - via liaison with school Enrolment - self disclosure - standard questions On programme - Tutorial assistants/Programme tutors - self disclosure - change of circumstances

How are STARs identified?  Health /Disability  Living situation including family issues  Counselling  Outside commitments  Behaviour issues/concerns  Criminal conviction, reprimand, caution  Education issues  Equality and diversity
