Georgia’s Contributions to WWI More than 100,000 Georgians contributed to the war-effort Georgia provided cotton and other materials for the war Agricultural impact – Canning techniques developed and new industry came to Georgia – Meat packing process and production also provided new economic opportunities By the end of the war, GA was home to more training camps than any other state – One camp housed German POWs – Military Hospital at Fort MacPherson
