Presentation transcript:

Our habitat is a mountain. It is a giant piece of land that is full of rocks and cliffs. The weather in the mountains is different. The weather can be cold, hot, and foggy. The weather at the top of the mountain is cold and the air is thin. At the bottom of the mountain it is warm.

You can find mountains all over the world. They are found in Mexico, Nepal, and Africa. A famous mountain is called Mount Rushmore found in South Dakota. Two other mountain ranges are the Rocky Mountains found from Canada to Mexico. It is 3,000 miles long. Another mountain range is the Smoky Mountains found from Maine to Georgia. The Blue Ridge Mountains and the Appalachian trails are part of the Smoky Mountains.

Three kinds of plants that live in the mountains are mount cook lily, snowbell, mountain ash fruit, and Indian paint brush.

Three animals that live in the mountains are mountain hares, mountain goat, and rattle snakes.

One animal to plant interaction is in spring, the yucca moth is attracted to the yucca plant. The yucca moth lays its eggs in the ovary of the flower. They soon hatch and feed on the seeds of the yucca plant. This helps to pollinate the plant.

Interesting facts about mountains are the tallest mountain in the world is Mount Everest at 29,028 feet and the top of Mount Everest can be 100 degrees below zero.
