Types of Decisions Routine – made often. Minor. Ex: deciding what to wear or what time to leave. Major – important choices requiring careful thought because they affect a person’s career and personal life.
Types of Decisions Personal Decisions -decisions that require you to look at your personal values and ethics when making a choice or that will affect you personally. Ex: Deciding whether or not to confront a friend who shoplifts

Making a Career Plan p.282 Interests – what you like to do Personality Traits - long term goals –to be reached in several months or years. Abilities – physical and mental power to perform a task or skill well – learned through training Aptitudes – natural physical and mental talent for learning. short term goal - to be reached tomorrow, next week or within a few months.
Career Plan Career Path A career plan examines the following: ◦ Extracurricular and volunteer activities ◦ Work or job experience ◦ Education and training requirements Each level in a career plan builds upon the previous one to help reach your career goal. Career Plan: sometimes called a Career Path is a list of job related steps that lead to a career goal.

Career Ladder- a series of related jobs available at different levels of education/training. pg. 284 in textbook
Creating a Career Ladder Entry-level job – beginners who lack experience or specialized training. Advanced-level job – work that requires special skills, knowledge and experience. Career ladder – A sequence of related jobs – from entry-level to advanced – available at different education levels. (p.284)
