Pre-Season Fitness Days December 10, 12, 14, 17, and 19 from 2:45-4:00 p.m. Emphasis: Stretching Ladder work Distance runs Anyone can attend Wear running shoes; there will be no soccer on these days
Pre-Season Training Emphasis Proper warm-up and stretching Ladder/hurdle drills Individual ball skills Dribbling Passing and receiving Heading and finishing Small-sided games (3v3 to 5v5)
Pre-Season Training Dates Training will be from 2:45-4:15 p.m. on: January 3, 8, 10, 24, 29, 31 February 5, 7 Players must have completed physicals on file with the school Players must wear cleats and shin guards Players must sign up for sessions in advance; only 10 people per session
Pre-Tryout Requirements Turn in an up-to-date physical Earn at least three credits during the fall semester Meet county attendance requirement Provide running shoes, cleats, NOCSAE-approved shin guards, and socks
Tryout Process Feb. 13 (3-5 p.m.): Emphasis on speed/agility/quickness, dribbling, juggling, 2v2 to 4v4 games Feb 14 (3-5 p.m.): Distance run, emphasis on passing, 6v6 games Feb. 15 (3-5 p.m.): Emphasis on speed/agility/quickness, finishing, 11v11 game Defense will be a point of emphasis daily A list of players selected will be posted at school by 7 p.m. on Feb 15 We have scrimmages on the morning of Feb. 16!
Expectations Scrimmages Saturday, Feb. 16 Mandatory parent meeting Tuesday, Feb. 19 Train or play every weekday and some Saturdays Training sessions last from 2:45-4:45 p.m. Game time will typically be 6 p.m. Soccer must be a priority during the season All grades must be passing during season; average must be “77” or above
