PRESENTATION

Dehesa Suroeste, Vineyards and Winery The vineyards and winery, - situated in Extremadura (Villafranca de los Barros-Badajoz- Spain), the winery of limited production capacity of liters, distributed in 10 tronconic tanks of liters and one of liters. It is a family winery of recent creation, nevertheless of rich tradition, since its three generations have been dedicating their life to the vine growing. The tradition of our forefathers and the up-to-date technologies join here for the single purpose: for people to enjoy what the Earth has given to us.

The Vineyards Own vineyards; Varieties: Tempranillo, Syrah, Petit Verdot, Graciano, Cabernet; Average age of vineyards – 25 years; Productivity – less than 3000 Kg./Ha; Selection of land plots, Selection of grapes; Grape harvest - at night, by hand, and in boxes of 15 Kg. approx.

The Winery Up-to-date equipment; Functioning for gravity, avoiding the use of pumps; Table of selection; Destemming right above the tank, the grapes falling down by their proper weight, inside the same tank; Stainless steel tronconic tanks of lts of capacity; Powerful freezing equipment by means of oversized sleeves allows to realize the alcoholic fermentation at low temperature preserving this way all aromas of the fruit;

The Winery Daily delestages are realized for better extraction of the color; New French oak barrels Allier of 500 lts. Cooperages: Demptos, Saury y Francoise Freeres; Malolactic fermentation is realized in wood, applying the “battonage” technique to put in suspension the lees that give so much to our wines.

The Image The design of Nadir and Xentia presentation reflects our desire to dress up our products in the packaging, which colors and shapes would represent a fusion between the quality and avant-garde.

The International Recognition Our wines Nadir Tinto 2007 and Xentia 2007 have been awarded the ZARCILLO de PLATA (Silver) award in the INTERNATIONAL WINE CONTEST “ZARCILLO 2009”, one of the most important contests on the global scale, provided with the recognition and patronage of the International Office of Wine and the International Union of Enologists besides being integrated into the World Federation of the Big International Wines Contests. In this edition, the number of samples submitted to the international jury of more than 100 tasters reached the amount of wines proceeding from 787 wineries from all over the world.
