The Children’s kimono is a small version of an adults kimono. The kimono is just as elaborate and is worn with all the accessories. A Childs kimono is normally coloured and bright. Just like a woman's kimono it can take an hour to put on, small children just wear a hanten. In the spring bright colours and floral patterns are worn by Japanese people, In autumn they wear fall colours and patterns, The designs could have chrysanthemums, or maple leaves. In the winter, especially near the holidays, they wear bamboo, pine trees and plum blossom designs, because they signify good luck, they wear cotton clothes in summer, and young unmarried women, wear kimono’s with long sleeves, which are very vibrant and colourful, they have rich patterns.

メーキャップ (Make-up) Today, The traditional make-up of the apprentice, geisha is one of their most recognizable characteristics, though established geisha generally only wore full white face make-up, Characteristics of maiko during special performances. The traditional make-up of an apprentice geisha features a thick white base with red lipstick and red and black accents around the eyes and eyebrows. Originally, the white base mask was made with lead, but after the discovery that it poisoned the skin and caused terrible skin and back problems, for the older geisha towards the end of the meiji era, it was replaced with rice powder. After the foundation layer is applied, a sponge is patted all over the face, throat, chest, the nape and neck to remove excess moisture and to blend the foundation.
