 Thomas Edison, was working in his lab one day and succeeded in recording “Mary’s Little Lamb” from a strip of tinfoil, wrapped around a spinning cylinder.

 The first music is put on record in 1878, when Jules Levy plays “Yankee Doodle.”

 Enrico Caruso is heard in the first live broadcast from the Metropolitan Opera, NYC.

 The first “talking movie” is demonstrated by Edison using his Kinetophone process, a cylinder player mechanically synchronized to a film projector.

 The first commercial broadcast on AM radio is made by KDKA, in Pittsburgh PA.

 The first movie with sound came out in May of 1928.

 Walt Disney's “Fantasia” is released, with eight-track stereophonic sound.

TThe movie “Forbidden Planet” is released with the first all-electronic film score. It was written by Louis and Bebe Barron.

 Digital tape recording begins to take control in professional audio studios.

 Sony introduces a palm-sized stereo cassette tape player. This is called a “Walkman.”

 “Sony” releases the first CD player.

 The Apple Corporation markets the Macintosh computer.  Most people know it was the “Mac”.

TThe first digital consoles appear.

 MP-3 players for downloaded Internet audio appear.

TThe first iPod was sold in October SSince then there have been over 250 million iPods sold from Apple.

 The first iPhone came out on June 29th,  With this iPhone you could listen to music!

 The first iPad came out on April 3,  With this iPad you could listen to music!

 The iPad 2 came out on March 11,  With this iPad you could also listen to music!

 On November 1, 1979, the first music video was lanched.
