Great man in the Old Testament  Birth  Burning bush / Plagues  Crossing Red Sea  Receiving Ten Commandments  Leading Israel in Wilderness Mentioned in the New Testament Heb. 11:23-27 “By Faith Moses” There were some valley’s in his life

Born in a disadvantaged condition  Parents were slaves  A death Sentence Ex. 1:22 1 st Time Try to Kill Him We may have been born at a disadvantage  Some use this as an excuse  No Excuse for not obeying God

Raised in a corrupt environment  House of Pharoah  Trained as an Egyptian – Acts 7:22  System of idolatry Our children have it rough today  Many false ideas - evolution - situation ethics  Enticements to sin  Not an excuse to sin / we have a choice

Misunderstood and criticized  Acts 7:23-27  His attempt to help his people was a disaster  He fled to Midian This sometimes happens to us  Preaching the truth – people get angry  Gal. 4:16 “Have I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth?”

He Was a Financial Failure  Raised in house of Pharoah  Fled Egypt without a penny - age of 40  He took the loss gladly Heb. 11:26. Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

We must learn to value the right things ! If we lost all material blessings what would we do ?? Blame God Quit attending church services Do we measure success with dollar $ign$ ? Heb. 11:27 (ESV) He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward.

Suffered from Low self-esteem  Made excuses  80 years old - felt inadequate for the job  Exodus 3:11 “Who am I?”  Exodus 4:1 “But suppose they will not believe me” We make excuses for not working  Send someone else  They won’t believe me With God’s Help we will succeed !

He had Family Problems  Zipporah – Gershom and Eliezer  Exodus 4:24-26  Aaron made Golden Calf  Miriam rebelled We often have family problems  Use it as excuse not to work and worship  Moses did not use this excuse 2 nd Time Try to Kill Him

He had Problems with Israel  Murmured many times  About ready to stone him  Lost temper - Num. 20:10 We often have church problems  Devil often gets people to quit  No excuse 3 nd Time Try to Kill Him

Learn some valuable lessons from Moses:  Don’t give up when it seems we are failing  Don’t feel inadequate when God is with us  Don’t value things of this world too highly  Family problems are no excuse to disobey  Temper does not justify sinful behavior
