M ATRIX P ROJECT Creating a Digital Image Mr. Wilson

First You need to find a black and white Image Make sure it is an image with different shades, not a cartoon. Save it to your desk top by right clicking on the image

Then go to my website>precalculus>documents:

All the way at the bottom look for “Matrix Project (blank)” -download the word document and open it

Here’s what it looks like:

Insert the image you downloaded:

Next is a bit tricky: -right click the image -look for a formatting option called “wrap text” -Then select the option “behind text”

Then click the corner of the image and enlarge or shrink to fit in the grid The image will be behind the grid, so you will be filling each of the squares with one of the 10 colors.

Then start filling in the squares with the paint bucket to the appropriate color.

I T TAKES TIME : You can check to see how your image looks by using the “select” button Then temporarily delete the image Then “undo” the deletion: to bring back the image
