CSDP  P. O. Box  Rochester, MI  Letter from the Chairperson: Welcome, and thank you for taking an interest in The Council of Supplier Diversity Professionals or CSDP. CSDP is a professional organization of industry leaders whose primary mission is to create a premier environment for supply-chain professionals to focus on creating innovative venues to increase opportunities to work with Diverse Suppliers and provide value focused improvements to our individual organizations. The CSDP fosters and promotes the exchange of ideas and cooperation among its members and strives by all lawful means to promote and enhance the body of knowledge and profession of supplier diversity. We embrace the best practices of the National Minority Supplier Development Council and its regional affiliates, the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, and the Institute for Entrepreneurial Thinking. The attached package hopefully provides you an insight into the value of becoming a CSDP member. Box  Rochester, MI  About Us The Council of Supplier Diversity Professionals (CSDP) was established in Detroit, Michigan in early 1998 by a group of supplier diversity professionals to assist in the ongoing growth and development of our profession and careers. CSDP provides a forum to share information, ideas and issues concerning supplier diversity. The Council is composed of supplier diversity professionals from all industries with titles from Coordinator to Vice President. Our mission is to create a premier environment for supply-chain professionals and focus on their development through education, sharing of knowledge, networking, mentoring, benchmarking and best practices. The Council also provides career-development strategies for supplier diversity professionals. Membership in the Council provides many benefits including: networking professional development benchmarking best practices advocacy certification business exchange

Box  Rochester, MI  Board of Directors Chairperson Elected every 3 years by general membership Vice Chairperson Appointed by CSDP Chairperson ( maximum 3 year appointment Treasurer Elected Executive Leader of the Finance Committee (3 year term) Secretary Elected every 3 years by general membership Directors Elected every 3 years by general membership Members At Large Appointed by CSDP Chairperson ( Maximum 1 year appointment by Chairperson) Legacy Board Member – Appointed by Chair, no term limit Board Membership Criteria and Expectations Be elected by CSDP members in good standing Attend meetings regularly Actively participate in meetings Pay annual dues for general membership Be an active member for at least one year Be an active member of one of the standing committees Become an active participating member of the Board Submit an interest statement Adhere to CSDP Code of Conduct Adhere to Attendance Policy Serve a two-year term on the Board

Box  Rochester, MI  General Membership Criteria Have responsibility for supplier diversity for a corporation, university or government agency; and or responsible for purchasing, or assist in and influence the purchase of goods/services from diverse entities. Participate in local supplier diversity efforts Join or participate in a working committee (Finance, Marketing, Memberships, Technology, Professional Development, Program) within one year of membership Pay annual dues and maintain good standing Be willing to sponsor future efforts to enhance the organization Participate in general membership meetings Be willing to share any suggestions, thoughts, or recommendations on how CSDP may be more successful and continue growth Encourage membership among peers and promote CSDP goals and objectives Adhere to CSDP Code of Conduct Actively network with other supplier diversity professionals Be willing to participate and share “best practices” for supplier diversity professionals

Box  Rochester, MI  Code of Conduct 1.Maintain professional decorum at all times. 2.Show professional respect and courtesy at all times to every member. 3.Members should obtain the floor before speaking by raising their hand. 4.Don’t claim the floor the second time if others wish to speak. 5.Serve on at least one (1) standing committee within 12 months (calendar year). 6.Participation is mandatory: every member is expected to participate in Council during discussions, events, committee involvement, etc. 7.Respect the confidentiality of information shared: any information discussed at meetings, announced as confidential or private, is to be held in confidence and not for public disclosure or sharing with others. 8.Council meetings are not to be used for solicitation of business from other CSDP members. It will be cause for dismissal from membership or any future meetings. 9.There is to be no referral of a minority business to a CSDP member without their prior notice or consent.

Box  Rochester, MI  Current Organization of Committees Marketing Committee The mission of the Marketing Committee is to create and promote the awareness of the Council while ensuring consistent use of its name and logo within the standards set by CSDP. Program Committee The mission of the Program Committee is to develop, plan, and implement the format and content of Council meetings. The Committee will improve CSDP program quality and expand program possibilities. The Committee will do this by creating stimulating programs that add value for CSDP members and address key initiatives impacting supplier diversity professionals. Membership Committee The mission of the Committee is to facilitate the review and approval of membership applications to the CSDP and to maintain contact information and committee lists of CSDP membership.

Box  Rochester, MI  Current Organization of Committees Finance Committee The mission of the Finance Committee is to ensure the fiscal well being of the Council of Supplier Diversity Professionals; oversee and administer the financial affairs of CSDP, including a business checking account; collection and monitoring of annual dues; and maintenance of 501c6 non-profit tax status. Technology Committee The mission of the Technology Committee is to assist our membership in efficiently using global communication solutions; to educate our corporations and communities regarding the socio and economic advantages in supporting diverse suppliers. Professional Development Committee The mission of the Professional Development Committee is to promote higher learning which results in the professional advancement of CSDP General Membership. Our vision is to increase the number of highly proficient Supplier Diversity leaders who have the ability to influence positive change in their respective organizations. This committee also shares platforms with partner organizations and supply chain professionals who have goals that complement the work of CSDP.
