Ethics are the moral principles that govern a person's or group's behaviour. These ethics can guide your group throughout their careers being good or bad. E.g. a bad ethic is the managerial departments being careless of lower level staff. Ethics are not laws and cannot be stopped or enforced by governments

Making an ethical investment gives a feel good factor. Forgoing High Returns from Investments that Don't Meet Your Criteria

The downside of this emotional component is that if a company violates one of the principles you thought it stood for, can bring massive feelings of disappointment.
