What Type of Music?
Rock-n-Roll: Although Rock-n-Roll has been around for a long time, it had it’s big break in the 1960’s. The roots of Rock-n-Roll go as far back as the big swing bands. Another source of Rock-n-Roll is the Blues. In the early 1960’s, pop music was fading away and Rock-n-Roll was taking it’s place. During this time, artist were expected to write and produce their own songs.
Rock-n-Roll Stars:
The Beatles is a band that started in the 1940’s and became famous in the early 1960’s. Known as the British Invasion, this band became a huge hit all over the world. The Beatles have won more awards then any other band in history.
Elvis Presley was a big singer in the 1960’s. He is know as the king of rock. He had a wife and one daughter. On August 16, 1977 Elvis died from a drug overdose.
