Debbie Stabenow

She was born in Gladwin and raised in Clare. There her family ran an Oldsmobile dealership. Her mom was nurse. Debbie is much focused a on helping the middle class. She believes strongly that the middle class doing good will help the economy very much. She wants to make things and grow things. Debbie has been a huge leader in helping create jobs for people in Michigan. She has helped cut taxes on business. And, she is also working to make alternative energy the most used energy resource in Michigan. Like solar panels, wind turbines, and advanced batteries. Thanks to her efforts the economy in Michigan has improved. Less people are out of work and we are innovating. Debbie believes that we need to be exporting our products out of the state. She is leading a charge to break down on China’s trade violations that are taking away Michigan’s jobs that are needed strongly. She is working on banning the federal government from buying China’s products until the Chinese government will agree to buying American products. She has passed legislation in the senate cracking down on Chinas currency manipulation, which hurts American companies and kills jobs. Last year she became chairwomen of the senate agriculture committee the first leader from Michigan since 1889.In her position she helped expand farms and small business to create agriculture. The first bill she past in the senate was a ban on oil and gas drilling in the great lakes. As Chairwoman, Senator Stabenow authored a new Farm Bill that cuts spending by $23 billion, provides disaster relief, and helps create agriculture jobs in Michigan.

Beliefs Economy: She wants to hire people that are currently unemployed at small pay. Health Care: She wants affordable health care for people and small business. Great Lakes: She wants us to protect the great lakes better. From ourselves and the Canadians (Who are through thousands of their trash in our lakes each year). Crops: She wants to grow the crop industry in Michigan. To make money and to create more jobs (she also wants to increase our crop sell to other states and countries). Auto industry: She wants to work on improving the auto industry slowly so she can create more jobs and sell more cars to make more money. Renewable Energy: She believes strongly in renewable energy. She wants to create more renewable energy so there is less pollution in the air, and so we can conserve our energy. Education: She wants to improve the schools, so we can be smarter and we can have a better future for our kids. Also our kids can have the number one test scores in the world. Innovation: She wants to out-innovate the world. She also wants to out build the world.
