The main idea: The couple sacrifice their own possessions to buy each other’s Christmas present, annotating that great love is impayable in the world.

Picture2: Proud of her beautiful hair, fought with her own mind before finally decided to sell it to get some money. Picture3: Jim, sold the watch to get the money to buy the combs for della. The story is about affection between two lovers. Della sold her beautiful long hair so that she could afford the money of a gold chain, which was the present for Jim on Christmas day. But at the same time, Jim sold his gold watch to buy a set of beautiful combs for Della. Both of them sacrifice their favorites for love. It is a bit sorry at the end of the story, but the emotion between the lovers is implacable. Love is great. It can make the poor feel rich and make the hearts feel warm. Learn-ing to love, to care everyone around us is important.

This is a dramatic story about Christmas presents. The couple sold their best things in order to buy the other a present. But neither of them knew that in the end their presents would turn out to be useless because they had sold what the presents are for.

We may feel pity for the couple, but because of the useless presents they got on Christ-mas Day, their love for each other flashes in glory. Both of them know that they receive the most precious presents---the true heart and unfading love from the other. They made sacrifices for love without regretting.
