Have you ever wondered how it would be like to live under communist rule? Do you love animals? - To start off, the novel, Animal Farm is based upon a little bit of history behind the revolution that overcame Russia years ago, and the negative effects that were self-inflicted upon the people under the new government that was established. (a.k.a. Communism)

The plot takes place on Manor farm, owned by Mr. Jones. Animals who lived in Manor Farm were treated as slaves and under the oppression of Mr. Jones. After years of enslavement, the animals decide to take action, revolution.

The animals of animal farm eventually succeed in the revolution against Mr. Jones and establish a new order, similar to communism. Under this new order, the animals learn to live under the rules of communism. However, the pigs begin to abuse their power as leaders, and a conflict arises from the animals.

 Napoleon the pig– Head dictator of Animal Farm  Snowball the pig – Leader of the revolution against Mr. Jones  Boxer the horse – Napoleon’s trustworthy hard worker  Clover the horse – Gives Boxer advice  Benjamin the donkey – Boxer’s best friend  Squealer – Napoleon’s chief assistant
