Homework – Due Tuesday 12/10 Find 1 current event article over the next 4 days (clip it out) and write a 1 paragraph reaction to the article. Does the article relate to any concepts that we have talked about in class? Read “Geopolitical Framework” from pages Fill out the Guided Reading for this section.

Here is the plan… Students will discuss current events articles in small groups. Students will compare two conquistadors: Cortes & Pizarro. Students will begin to understand the lasting impact imperialism has had on the region of Latin America.

Compare Two of the best known conquistadors Pizarro and Cortes from pages #453 – 454 in BLUE textbook. What advantages did each possess over the native peoples?
