Nature of God Hebrews 1:1–3 1 Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. 3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power… God is one in essence in three co-eternal, co-equal persons.

Nature of Man - Relational Genesis 2:18 It is not good for man to be alone. Man – Dependent on God John 1:4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men. Acts 17:28 In him we live move and have our being. John 8:12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Fruit of Light John 15: As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. 11 These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. Is your joy full?

John 1:5 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. Nature of Darkness – Absence of Light Physical Darkness – to turn from or have the sun’s light obscured. Spiritual Darkness – to turn from or have the Son’s light obscured.

John 1:6-9 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him. 8 He was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light. 9 The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.

John 1: He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. 11 He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him.

John 3:19 19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
