Country and Capital El Salvador is the smallest and most densely populated country in Central America. Capital is San Salvador, also the country’s biggest city. El Salvador has a population of about 6.2 million people It borders the Pacific Ocean to its left, and Honduras, Nicaragua, and Guatemala to its right

Flag The flag of El Salvador is pure blue over white over blue flag with the state's coat of arms The coat of arms has five flags around the triangle and green branches. Text around it says: REPUBLICA DE EL SALVADOR EN LA AMERICA CENTRAL. In the middle of the triangle above the cap is the date 15 DE SET DE 1821 (15th of September, 1821), the independence day.

Famous Man: Cayetano Carpio Cayetano Carpio (August 6, 1918 – April 12, 1983) was the leader of the FMLN. He led the Communist leftist group in Guerilla actions against the government because he thought that it was time to reform. He committed suicide on April, 12, 1983 after being found guilty of murdering fellow leaders.

Famous Woman: Ana María Ana María (17 May 1929 – 6 April 1983) was the second in command of the FMLN guerilla forces in El Salvador. She was eventually killed by comrades that wished to prolong the war instead of stopping it. During her life she was a revolutionary icon to women in El Salvador
