I Will... Psalm 101

Scout’s Pledge On my honor, I will do my best To do my duty to God and my country; To obey the Scout Law; To help other people at all times; To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight. On my honor, I will do my best To do my duty to God and my country; To obey the Scout Law; To help other people at all times; To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.

2 Samuel 8:15 So David reigned over all Israel; and David administered judgment and justice to all his people. In Psalm 101, the King’s resolve to rule in his kingdom with justice and mercy is stated in a series of “I will” statements So David reigned over all Israel; and David administered judgment and justice to all his people. In Psalm 101, the King’s resolve to rule in his kingdom with justice and mercy is stated in a series of “I will” statements

The King says, “I Will...” Sing Praises (1) (Worship) Isaiah 56:7; Hebrews 13:15 Sing Praises (1) (Worship) Isaiah 56:7; Hebrews 13:15

Isaiah 56:7 Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices Will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations."

Hebrews 13:15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

The King says, “I Will...” Sing Praises (1) (Worship) Isaiah 56:7; Hebrews 13:15 Behave Wisely (2) Romans 16:19 Sing Praises (1) (Worship) Isaiah 56:7; Hebrews 13:15 Behave Wisely (2) Romans 16:19

For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil.

The King says, “I Will...” Sing Praises (1) (Worship) Isaiah 56:7; Hebrews 13:15 Behave Wisely (2) Romans 16:19 Set Nothing Wicked Before Eyes (3-4) Ephesians 5:3-4; Proverbs 23:31-33 Sing Praises (1) (Worship) Isaiah 56:7; Hebrews 13:15 Behave Wisely (2) Romans 16:19 Set Nothing Wicked Before Eyes (3-4) Ephesians 5:3-4; Proverbs 23:31-33

Ephesians 5:3-4 But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; 4 neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.

Proverbs 23:31-33 Do not look on the wine when it is red, When it sparkles in the cup, When it swirls around smoothly; 32 At the last it bites like a serpent, And stings like a viper. 33 Your eyes will see strange things, And your heart will utter perverse things. Drinking an example of “Looking to Lust” (Sexual Immorality another) Do not look on the wine when it is red, When it sparkles in the cup, When it swirls around smoothly; 32 At the last it bites like a serpent, And stings like a viper. 33 Your eyes will see strange things, And your heart will utter perverse things. James 4:11 Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. Pride, and hateful speech is unfitting for God’s children. We are to love each other. Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. Pride, and hateful speech is unfitting for God’s children. We are to love each other.

Psalm 15:1-3 LORD, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill? 2 He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart; 3 He who does not backbite with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend.

Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, 13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed. As the King rewarded righteousness, we too are to encourage the faithful Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, 13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed. As the King rewarded righteousness, we too are to encourage the faithful

Conclusion From these statements we see the proper attitude (God’s attitude) toward both the righteous and the wicked. The Righteous will receive blessings from the heavenly King! (cf. Matthew 25:34-36)

Matthew 25:34-36 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, “Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.”
