Managing TurningPoint Files II: Importing and Selecting a Participant List (.tpp) File) Gerald Bergtrom, Ph.D. Learning Technology Center University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee October 2005 Edited by Tanya Joosten, Alan Aycock, Susan Gifford Note: skip this tutorial only if you will to collect anonymous class data.

Important Notes Participant List files behave differently depending on when they are placed in the Participants folder: - If TurningPoint is already running, the Participant List must be imported even if it already exists in the participants folder. - If TurningPoint is NOT running when a Participant List is placed in the Participants folder, launching the program effects an automatic import. Whether imported upon starting TurningPoint or afterwards, the Participant List must be selected for students to get points during your presentation,

In this tutorial you will: Place a class roster (Participant List, or.tpp file) in the Participants folder Select the Participant List so that it will store student responses for your presentation (session) Note: Participant Lists are updated periodically during the first few weeks of the semester. Thereafter, you can update the Participant List yourself (see tutorial on Editing a Participant List). Also see Tutorials on how to reconcile different rosters. Import the.tpp file if necessary
