Life in Year 1L!

I come from Oxfordshire, England and I have taught in schools in the UK, Spain and Portugal. This is my sixth year at Patana school, I have worked in both Year five and K2.This will be my third year in Y1. I am married to Glen and have four sons all of whom have attended Bangkok Patana school. My oldest son has recently graduated and my younger sons are in Year 12.

In class we use a variety of strategies to encourage your child to behave in a positive way…  Rainbow spots  Positive praise  100 Sticker chart (whole class)  Husky the class dog- home for a weekend

 Now they are in Year 1 the children are becoming more independent. We encourage them to:  Pack and unpack their own bags in class  Carry out their morning routines - eg. red books  Look after their property  Choose their own equipment  Dress and undress themselves
