More Love or Less Love? What do we need the most in the world today? More love? In many cases, we need less love (2 Tim. 3:1-9) People loving the wrong things leads to terrible times; we need less love!

But know this, that in the last days grievous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, railers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good, traitors, headstrong, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power therefore. From these also turn away. For of these are they that creep into houses, and take captive silly women laden with sins, led away by divers lusts, ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. And even as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also withstand the truth. Men corrupted in mind, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further. For their folly shall be evident unto all men, as theirs also came to be. 2 Timothy 3:1-9

Less Love of Self We should care for ourselves (Mt. 22:39), but selfishness causes many troubles at home and in society (2 Tim. 3:2) We must deny self (Lk. 9:25; Jn. 12:25) and not think more highly of self (Rom. 12:3-5; Gal. 6:3) We should esteem others better than self (Phil. 2:3-4)

Less Love of Money Lovers of money cause many troubles (Lk. 16:14; 2 Tim. 3:2) The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil (1 Tim. 6:10; Heb. 13:5)

Less Love of Evil Not loving good (light) but loving evil (darkness) leads to many troubles (Jn. 3:19-21; 2 Tim. 3:3) Some love the hire of wrong-doing (2 Pet. 2:15)

Less Love of Pleasure Loving pleasure (hedonism) leads to many troubles (2 Tim. 3:4; Tit. 3:3; Jas. 4:1,3; 2 Pet. 2:13) Loving pleasure chokes the word of God (Lk. 8:14)

Less Love Some love family more than Jesus (Mt. 10:37) Some love the glory (praise) that is of men more than God (Jn. 12:43) Some love the world more than God (2 Tim. 4:10) Some love first place over Jesus (3 Jn. 9)

Love More, Love Less Love for God should be greater than self (Rev. 12:11) Love for God should be greater than money (1 Tim. 6:17; 1 Pet. 1:18-19) Love for God should be greater than evil (Psa. 97:10) Love for God should be greater than pleasure (Eccl. 2:1; 12:13-14) Love for God should be greater than the world (1 Jn. 2:15-17)
