POSITIVE LIFESTYLE FACTORS What are some positive lifestyle factors? Healthy eating Exercise 8 hours of sleep Avoiding drugs Doing your best

RISKS AND YOUR HEALTH Risks are part of life. Taking care of your health behaviors is part of being a responsible and becoming an adolescence.

RISK BEHAVIORS risk behaviors Actions or behaviors that might cause injury or harm to yourself or others. Risk behaviors can be obvious and some are not because the effects are not immediate. Give an example of risk behaviors.

CONSEQUENCES EXAMPLE: It is Friday night and your friends invite you to a party. They tell you there will be alcohol and drugs there. You ask your parents if you can go but fail to tell them about the drugs and alcohol. Your parents give you permission to go but tell you to call at 11 pm and they will pick you up. You go to the party and decide that because your friends are drinking it would be okay if you do. Before you know it is ten pm. You decide not to call mom and dad but get a ride with an older person who was at the party drinking.

CONSEQUENCES What are some short term consequences? What are some long term consequences? What were some cumulative risks?
