WE’RE DOING A “WE CARE” CAMPAIGN FOR International Children’s Care who build and maintain Seventh-day Adventist Children’s Villages for orphaned and abandoned children in third world countries.

WHAT IS A “WE CARE” CAMPAIGN? It’s an awareness program to help provide homes and families for orphaned and abandoned children. Our youth group will hold several fundraisers including a 25 Hour Prayer Vigil and Fast to get a taste of true hunger and pray for children. Through family, friends and group fundraisers we raise money to save kids’ lives and give them families. ($30 will help feed and care for a child for an entire month!) The experience teaches us about Christ’s compassion, and about how we can help make a difference in the world.

ARE CHILDREN THAT ARE ORPHANED AND ABANDONED A BIG ISSUE? There are millions of orphaned and abandoned children in third world countries. They are the outcasts of society with no one to love or care for them. Most don’t know Jesus.

WHY DO THE “WE CARE” CAMPAIGN? James 1:27 says, “You must help orphans and widows…” Psalms 82:3-4 says, “Be fair to the poor and to orphans. Defend the helpless and everyone in need. Rescue the weak and homeless from the powerful hands of heartless people.” We want to feel the power of Christ’s compassion. It will bring our youth group closer together, and in a closer relationship with Christ. If we don’t step up, who will?

HOW THE “WE CARE” CAMPAIGN MAKES A DIFFERENCE Just $1 can help feed, educate, and care for a child for an entire day. The price of a family meal we eat at a restaurant in the U.S. can provide food and care for several months. We’re offering children more than saving their life – we’re giving them love, family, and hope for a better future.

HOW YOU CAN HELP Pray for our group members as we do the “WE CARE” CAMPAIGN including the 25 Hour Prayer Vigil and Fast. Sponsor a youth (or two or three!) as they do the various fundraising activities. Support our group fundraisers. Volunteer to help at our events.

AFTER THE CAMPAIGN You can have a deeper relationship with one child through International Children’s Care’s child sponsorship program. Child sponsorship is one of the most effective ways to change a child’s life.
