Structural Civil Engineering By Manlio J Bertucci

Introduction Structural Engineering is a field of Civil Engineering in which we design and analyze the structures which are supposed to support and resist a load. CCTV Tower (Beijing, China)

What we do… Structural Engineers will mainly be working with the design of buildings and big structures, but their work will go as far as the design of any item in which the structural integrity could be at risk, ensuring correct functioning and safety of the structure.

Main Objectives To ensure our designs meet the standard criterias. Make sure the structure life is known so to be able to intervene on possible failures b4 they happen. Make sure our structures can withstand massive loads as well as climate change and natural disasters. You’re doing it wrong!

Specializations Name Building Structures Civil engineering Mechanical Structures Earthquake engineering Façade engineering Fire engineering Roof engineering Tower engineering Wind engineering Example Design of structures Bridges, Damns, Pipelines Elevators,Cranes, Airframes Earthquake proof structures Building Facades Prevent/Control fire effects Support,Insulation,Drainage Sky Scrapers/Communication Wind Impact on building
