COMENIUS 2.1 PROJECT CROSS CULTURAL WALKS IN THE STREETS OF EUROPE

* Our school functions since 1962; *Since 1994 our school is named “HOREA”-after a a Romanian hero from 18 th century; *There are classes with intensive German and English teaching; *There are classes who are learning in their mother tongue – Hungarian; *Our students participates to a lot of school competitions, festivals, trips and camps. *Also supervise by teachers the student participate in the Comenius projects and other European activities.

OUR SCHOOL HAS:  13 PRYMARY CLASSES (I-IV)  15 SECONDARY CLASSES (V-VIII)  4 CLASESS FOR THE STUDENT WHO ABANDON SCHOOL (V-VIII)  54 TEACHERS

Theme 1 THE PAST –“Famous people in our city” Working in partnership, the children will look for personalities` life and work after the streets` are named in as many subjects as possible. For the presentation of their work the pupil will be dressed up suitable to the life time and character which they represent. The outcome is a glossary of personalities street names. Theme nr.2 THE PRESENT – “The present – near us” The pupils will develop the work in the street, where they will ask questions to the representative citizens - police- man, doctor, teacher, sales-man, priest, college students, homeless. The students will develop the sensitivity to the differences, learn how to communicate, how to express their opinion in a positive way. Theme nr.3 THE FUTURE - “My wonderful, fantastic city” The pupils will imagine and create their own fantastic city, developing the creativity and write the differences from the present. On a sheet of flipchart will be drawn a hand (as a symbol of individualism) on which each pupil of this group will write the change that he wants in our city
