Our Commitments VisionThe organisation will incorporate sustainable practices in every thing we do. By 2012 we will become Carbon neutral, consume 40% less resources and produce 90% less non-recycled waste. Commitment 1SAMH will actively set upon reducing our consumption of natural resources across the organisation. Commitment 2SAMH will significantly reduce the amount of general waste by using less and recycling more. Commitment 3SAMH will work in partnership with multiple stakeholders across Scotland to protect the environment, to raise awareness of organisational and personal responsibilities.

Where are we now? Travel: 527,000 miles = 158 tonnes carbon (£210,000) £240,000 HLP Waste 1,580,000 sheets of A4 paper £17,500 in printer cartridges Recycling Head Office Recycled paper

Objectives All services and departments will work to reduce travel claims by at least 10% by December SAMH should agree a target of 20% reduction in gas and electricity use to be achieved by March SAMH should set a target of 20% reduction in paper consumption by December 2008 and a 40% on current volume by 2012.
