Registering and Joining a Course

What do I need to register? All students need:  A student access code An access code looks like this: SMPLE – FRILL – TONLE – WEIRS - CHOIR – FLEES. An access code is  Packaged with your textbook,  Available for purchase as a standalone access card at your bookstore, or  Available for purchase as part of the registration process.  A valid account Use an account that you'll keep for the duration of the course.  Your school's ZIP code

What do I need to register? To buy access online, you also need:  Author, title, edition of your textbook. You can generally find this information on the first few pages of your book. Ask your instructor if you are not sure.  The version of MyCompLab your instructor is using. The version is Generic or eBook. Ask your instructor if you are not sure. If your instructor is using an eBook, also get the textbook's exact title and author.

How to register Go to In the Register or Buy Access box, click Students.

Do you have an access code? If you already have an access code, click I already have an access code and go to the next slide. If you do not have an access code, click I need to buy access and then go on to select your version.select your version

Privacy Policy Read the Pearson privacy policy and click I Accept.

Do you have a Pearson account? Do you have a Pearson Education account?  If Yes – Enter your Login Name and Password. You can use the same Login Name and Password that you use for your other Pearson products.  If No – Follow the onscreen instructions to create a Login Name and Password.  If Not Sure – Enter your address and click Search.

Access Code Enter your access code in the boxes provided. When you have entered all the required information, click Next to continue. Enter your access code

Account Information Enter and select the required information. If you already have an account, review and update the information if necessary. Click Next to continue.

Confirmation & Summary You have completed the registration process! This page displays your account information, and Pearson recommends printing this page for your records. You will also receive an confirmation. After printing this page, click Log In Now to join your MyCompLab course.

Choose how you will work Join Your Instructor’s Course To join an instructor’s course you must have the Course ID, which you get from the instructor. Then select this option, click Continue, and enter the Course ID. You can then enter the MyCompLab course. Work on Your Own Select this option if you are not joining an instructor’s course. Then click Continue and select the eBook or generic course (depending on your access code), and enter the course. Not sure what to do? Click the Logout link and check with your instructor.

Welcome to your course! Use the Help link, at the top of all MyCompLab windows, when you want information on working in MyCompLab.

Select your version The first step for purchasing an access code is to specify whether you need a Generic or E-Book version. If you are not sure which to select, ask your instructor. Generic Version (no E-book) After you click the Generic Version (no E-book) link, select the length of access that is written on your access card. Then go on to review the Pearson Privacy Policy.Privacy Policy

E-book Version Only After you click the E-book Version link, you need to select your E-book. But first, make sure you know which E-book to choose. If you do not know the E-book, do not proceed with registration. Click on the cover of the book being used in your class. Then go on to review the Pearson Privacy Policy. Privacy Policy
