Most pertinent procedure and why Most Pertinent ProceduresWhy 1. Shoreline Survey Helps us eradicate health hazards 2. Trawling To protect our livelihood 3. Fish monitoring Make us to control and manage the growth of our fish. 13

How community volunteers share findings with the community at large Now Plans for the future  Sensitization and awareness meetings to share findings  Information/Findings sharing thru the local media  Putting up information bill-boards and information at information center.  Dissemination of information on local radio about findings. 14

What you like most about the program 1. Is giving more education on the livelihood of artisanal fishermen 2. Serving as a source of motivation to work for the community as a volunteer. 3. Is creating more awareness about the IUU activities of EEZ 15

The difficulties with the program 1. Monitoring of trawlers at night in the economic exclusive zone 2. More needs to be done for effective communication amongst the volunteers 3. Lack of office space. 16

How the Coordinator can help you to: Increase the number of volunteers 1.Awareness raising on the program 2.Expansion of program to other fishing communities along the nine coastal counties 3.Local media publicity of the program Improve the communication on findings of Community Sciences to community members 1. Volunteers meetings on regular basis 1.Regular monthly meeting with communities 2.By involving community leaders/stakeholders for more discussion on community sciences education 17
