界 2014 世 World Earth Day 地球日

This year of April 22nd is the forty-second world earth day. This year's Earth Day theme: "cherish the earth's resources development mode change". China's theme is: "treat the earth - the scientific development and constructing the harmonious".

The earth is the common home of mankind, but human activity has caused serious damage to the earth. The biological survival of forests, lakes, wetlands are disappearing at an alarming rate; non renewable energy of coal, petroleum, natural gas and other face depletion due to over exploitation; a large number of greenhouse gas combustion emissions causing global warming, caused by the polar ice caps melt, sea level rise problems threatening the survival of mankind development. Protect the earth's resources and environment, the pursuit of sustainable development model is urgent. 34

1.Global warming Because of global warming, will have varying effects on the global, high temperature can make the polar ice melting, sea level will rise every 10 years 6 cm, thus will cause some coastal areas were flooded. Global warming may also affect the variation of rainfall and atmospheric circulation, the climate anomalies, easy to cause the disasters of flood. : The ten global environmental problems 910

2.Loss and damage the ozone laye r Destruction of the ozone layer, will make the ground by the increase of the UV radiation intensity, which bring great harm to life on earth. Research shows that, ultraviolet radiation damage of biological proteins and genetic material DNA, causing cell death; to human skin cancer incidence; damage the eyes, causing cataracts Ershi blind; 1112

3.The reduction of biological diversity Scholars estimate, the world each year there are at least species extinction of species extinction, a daily average of up to 140, 。 1314

4.Acid rain spread Acid rain falls to the rivers, lakes, will prevent the water fish, shrimp growth, so that the fish reduced or disappeared; acid rain also caused soil acidification, the destruction of soil nutrients, the soil leanness, harm the growth of plants and crops, endanger the forest growth. In addition, acid rain corrosion of building materials 5.Forest reduction Caused the species reduction and soil erosion, reduce further aggravates the greenhouse effect of CO2 absorption. 1516

6.Land desertification There are hectares of farmland, hectares per year in the pastoral areas of lost productivity. 7.Air pollution Air pollution causes are million people die each year because of dust pollution in advance, of children suffering from chronic laryngitis, million rural women and children victims. 8.Water pollution i 1718

What can we do to protect our home  Use planting green to do home layout.  Use the ware water, washing fruits and vegetables, dishes, brush teeth, wash your face, in order to save precious water.  The power supply and air conditioning room centralized use.  Go out to walk, ride a bike, use of public transportation system 78
