What body systems are affected ? Some parts of the body which can be effected by diabetes include the eyes, the kidneys and the blood vessels. The arteries and also the nervous system can be impacted as well.
What other body systems are affected ? The nervous, cardiovascular, urinary and sensory systems may be affected by diabetes
What type of treatment is available, and what cost? The American Diabetes Association reports that the typical monthly cost to treat diabetes runs from $350 to $900 for those who do not have insurance
Fact of diabetes Diabetes is a disease in which the body is unable to produce or unable to properly use and store glucose (a form of sugar). Glucose backs up in the bloodstream causing one’s blood glucose or "sugar" to rise too high.
