Electrical Design Summary  Use Comparators to monitor battery voltage and drive status LEDs on chest strap. (Functional).  Use switching regulator to step down from 12V->5V, Linear for 5V->3.3V (Functional).  Use low power Xbee units to transmit receive wireless signals (Functional).  Have user input buttons on Chest Strap and Electronics Box (Functional).  Utilize MSP430 microcontroller for signal processing (Needs improvement).  Use additional light drivers, controlled by low voltage MSP430, to drive high voltage LEDs (Functional).

Software Design Summary  User Inputs Function Select (Input-Functional, Output-Not Functional) ○ Turn Signal ○ Brake Hazard (Functional) Brightness (Not Functional) ○ Needs proper use of PWM module  System Functions Low Battery Flag (Functional) USB Load Shed (Functional) Drive LEDs from Rx wireless signals (Functional) Drive LEDs at 60Hz (Not Functional) ○ Needs proper use of Timing module

Future Software/Electrical Improvements  Change output drive capability of comparators. Open-collector->Rail-to-Rail  Use a simpler and cheaper wireless device. Xbee->???  Implement full microcontroller functionality. Acquire a software “expert” Allow for proper use of MSP430 PWM and timing modules.  Implement regulation on 12V power line. Current voltage range is 10.5V-14.5V, will reduce to 10.5V-12V.
