Adjectives An adjective is a word used to describe a noun in various ways. e.g. Mickey is very happy It is a tall tree. The book is very thick. Adjectives of size and length big / little wide / narrow fat / thin large / small thick / thin tall / short e.g. Mickey is very thin.

Adjectives of shape and surface straight / curved sharp / blunt smooth / rough square / round e.g. Mickey’s face is round. Adjectives of age young / old old / new e.g. Mickey is quite young. Adjectives of colour red light green gold silver purple dark pink blue e.g. Mickey is wearing a blue hat.

Adjectives of quality useful / useless good / bad pretty / ugly strong / weak clever / stupid hard / soft interesting / boring e.g. Minnie is very pretty. Adjectives of quantity much many all a lot of lots of some any no none e.g. Minnie is holding some roses in her hand.

Game: Scientists Rules Play in a group of four or five Place the cards down in a pile and don’t look at them You are all scientists in the year 5000. The picture cards are the objects that you have discovered, but you are not sure what they were used for. The 1st scientist takes the 1st card but don’t show it to the others. Read the information on the card to the others and describe the appearance of the object (shape, size, what it’s made of / from). Don’t say the name. If one knows, tell the others If she is correct, give them the card. If she is wrong, the 1st scientists keep the card Then next scientist takes turn. The player with the most cards at the end is the winner.
