Intelligent Playlist (what it has) Dynamically updated plaintext playlist, with file name and... Personal Rating – goes down when user skips a song, up when song plays through Performance Rating – At the end of the workout, all songs on playlist are rated on how well they helped user reach goals Beats Per Minute

Intelligent Playlist (what it does) List building – Program will be able to add a directory of files to a playlist, and find each song's beats per minute Dynamic updating – Program will run during play, will maintain and update the rating of each song due to user interaction or exercise completion. Scenario 1 Marty McFly is a casual jogger who runs every morning before he goes to work. When Marty is ready to begin his morning jog, he places J-Pod on his arm. J-Pod senses that it is being worn and turns on. Immediately after turning on, J-pod downloads the current weather conditions and creates a workout for Marty. Marty then begins his jog. 15 minutes into his workout, Marty reaches his target heart rate. After a few more minutes Marty continues to pick up the pace, which increases his heart rate. J-Pod immediately senses that Marty is over exerting himself and chooses a new song to play for Marty that will adjust his speed to lower his heart rate.

Scenario 2 Biff Tannon recently suffered a severe accident in which he requires medical rehabilitation to rebuild his strength. When Biff begins his rehabilitation session he straps the J-Pod on his arm. J-Pod senses that it is being worn and turns on. As Biff works out the J-Pod closely monitors his heart rate to make sure that he is keeping a steady work out. During Biff's workout he beings to slow down his activities. J-Pod immediately senses that Biff's heart rate has lowered and chooses a new song to help motivate him in his workout.

Current Market Analysis Exercise market  Over 55% of all Americans exercise regularly  20% of those who exercise regularly participate by running or jogging  Over 18% of Americans who work out invest in a personal trainer to assist their exercise  This shows that over 53 million Americans obtain assistance with their workout by employing a personal trainer (Statistics complied by the Maritz Marketing Research group)

Current Market Analysis MP3 market  In 2005 over 57 million units were sold to consumers  It is estimated that in 2009 over 132 million units will be sold  Apple is currently the leading producer of MP3 players with a 42% market share (Statistics complied by the NPD group)

Target Market J-Pod will target consumers who exercise regularly and purchase devices or services that assist in an exercise program MP3 hardware manufacturers will be used as channel partners to reach the target market

Business Model Licensing of technology to manufacturers  For manufacturers to utilize J-Pod technology they will have to pay an upfront licensing fee Royalty fee  A percent of each sale of each device that contains J-Pod technology will return to the J- Pod corporation
