A customer service representative for a financial institution lost his vision and could no longer read his computer screen. What accommodation would be reasonable? Request screen reading software for PC so that all information present on the screen and all information input would be read back. Request that all computer work be performed by another co-worker. Request that employer pay for home modifications that will allow employee to adjust to new vision loss.
Please Try Again A reasonable accommodation still requires that the individual with the disability be able to perform the essential functions of the job, it is not reasonable to have someone else do your job for you.
Come on… you can do it! The ADA does not require an employer to pay for devices that individuals will use outside of work. The ADA requires that employers reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities on the job.
