Our country hosts several open air museums, most of them being village museums or military museums.

The youngest open air museum in Romania

 It is situated in Suceava, Northern Moldavia and it dates back from the 1970-ies;  It contains traditional wooden houses, popular technical tools and different rural constructions, specific to the region.

The Curtea Veche Museum - Bucharest It is situated on the ruins of the old Citadel of Bucharest and it includes archaeological discoveries made along the time.

 Covering a large area, the museum houses a permanent exhibition of ethnography and popular art.
