Choices How can good or bad choices affect your life?

Introduction Meet Michael. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee. His family had some issues, so he jumped from foster home to foster home. He failed first and second grade twice. He is old enough to be in high school. Should he go?

Yes! Good choice! Michael is really good at football, so he applies to a private school. He was accepted. He finally graduates after tons of hard work. He is signed by the Ravens, and he is the main character in the book and movie: The Blind Side. His name is Michael Oher.

No! That’s too bad. Michael could end up like the other people from his neighborhood- in jail. Michael’s father was killed while in jail. No one in his family had ever graduated from high school, and he lived in utter poverty. Remember that people who earn a high school degree earn millions more over their lifetime than those who don’t!

Steven’s Story He was no scholar, and his classmates teased him. Rather than read, the kid really preferred running around with a 8 mm camera, shooting homemade movies of wrecks of his Lionel train set (which he showed to friends for a small fee). In his sophomore year of high school, he dropped out. But when his parents persuaded him to return, he was mistakenly placed in a learning-disabled class. He lasted one month. Only when the family moved to another town did he land in a more suitable high school, where he eventually graduated. Should he go to college?

Yes! Well, he tried. After applying to a film school, Steven Spielberg was denied THREE TIMES!!! He finally was admitted to a community college, but he dropped out before finishing. He finally got his degree in years after his first class. He directed JAWS! at the age of 28. It earned $470 million.

Don Don’s car crashed one night. This led to the amputation of one of his legs, while in surgery the doctors discovered he had cancer. Would you give up or fight for your life? Give Up Fight

Give up! Well, you guessed it. You’re dead!

Fight! That is just what Don Meyer did! He is currently the head coach of the men's team at Northern State University. Meyer is currently the winningest men's basketball coach who coaches in the NCAA. He received the ESPY Jimmy V award in 2009.
