Meet Rosina

deaf  Someone who is deaf cannot hear anything or can hear very little.  My sister is deaf, so I use sign language to talk with her.  Why is sign language very important for deaf people?

language  Language is the words or movements that people use to communicate.  In America, most people speak the English language.  List some other languages you know.

signing  To use sign language is called signing.  Teachers use signing to “talk” to deaf students.  Describe a time you saw someone signing.

cultures  The ways people live, including their ideas, customs, and traditions, are their cultures.  How can cultures be alike and different?

relatives  Your relatives are the members of your family.  Relatives gather together for holidays.  How many relatives do you have?

celebrate  When you celebrate, you honor a special event by doing something fun.  I celebrate my birthday by having a party.  What events do you celebrate?
