Downriver by Will Hobbs Chapter notes--17 & 18 Downriver by Will Hobbs

Ch. 17 Notes What lies ahead? Who’s in charge? Havasu Creek Followed by Upset A major rapid Jessie is in charge.

What concerns Jessie? How has she changed? Lack of food and no way to cook Jessie is concerned about the others and is especially worried about gangrene in Adam’s foot and medicine for Freddy. She now feels her future is all light rather than a dark tunnel.

What happens before they reach Upset? They are intercepted by Al and a park ranger. Freddy and Adam are taken by helicopter to a hospital. Pug has been picked up and taken to Park Service Headquarters, but Troy has escaped. The other three are returned home.

Chapter 18 Notes The denouement or unraveling… It is now March. Star lives with Jessie, her dad and Madeline. Freddy is learning to fight fires in southwestern Colorado. Rita is back in New York.

More ch. 18 Troy has been found and is in Los Angeles. Adam plans to work for Al in Discovery Unlimited. No mention of Pug.
