Update on the SOUTHWEST COASTAL LA Project Governor’s Advisory Commission Meeting August 7, 2013 Abbeville, LA committed to our coast

Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority of Louisiana

The Feasibility Cost Share Agreement was signed between CPRA and the Corps in January The study is multi-purpose = coastal restoration and hurricane protection. Is cost shared between the CPRA and the Corps. The Project Delivery Team has the active participation of many stakeholder groups and agencies. Study was transitioned to the Corps new 3X3X3 planning paradigm (SMART Planning). Funds have been made available to complete the study. Southwest Coastal Overview

Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority of Louisiana Status The Study has produced a Feasibility Scoping Report and a Value Engineering Report. Full structural inventory has been completed. Hydraulic models developed: ADCIRC model (storm surge) Regional Circulation (salinity) The current schedule indicates a Draft Feasibility Report in November 2013 and and a Chief’s Report Milestone in September The Alternatives Milestone (all work to date, plus the alternatives carried forward) was approved by the Corps vertical team in June Measure types under evaluation are in concert with the 2012 State Master Plan.
