Events that lead to the Revolutionary War Tension growing in the colonies.

The French and Indian war….  The British are fighting with France and MOST Indians helped the French.  The war ends up being 10 years, and The British gain all of Canada.  During the war The British after the war got in into about 30 billion dollars in today's money. This is tons of money.

The Proclamation of 1763  Colonist wanted to move west where the Native Americans already live. Native Americans started attacking the colonist and their homes. Native Americans started attacking the colonist and their homes. This act made so that the Native Americans had all the land west of Appellation mountains. This act made so that the Native Americans had all the land west of Appellation mountains.

The colonist didn’t like the British soldiers to begin with, and now they have to live with them. They were having to care for their families, and the soldiers too. They got furious. Pretend you have your enemy living with you and you must take care of the enemy. How would you feel?

Stamp Act This act put a tax on every day paper goods. Examples of the paper goods they used would news papers and playing cards. Tension is yet still growing.

The Boston Massacre happened just as a soldier was just guarding the collectors house. They guarded the collectors house and family because they collected tax for the king. A small crowd such as 15 people or so gathered around the soldier on guard duty and called the soldier names such as lobster back. This was because the soldier Had a red coat. The soldier had stones being thrown at him so he called 7 other soldiers to help. When the commander said DON’T fire, one soldier thought he said FIRE. So of course he fired. And in a panic the other soldiers fired too. 11 people got hurt. 5 got killed, and 6 got badly injured.

Boston Tea party The taxes created by the stamp act were repealed. Except for the tax on tea. Now people are boycotting the British tea. The Governor would not let the ship captains sail the tea back to Brittan. So then sons of liberty take their stand. They at night dress up as Mohawk Native Americans, And dump the tea into the harbor.

Intolerable Acts These are a series of acts. The worst one was the Boston port act. This act made it that the Boston Harbor was Shut down. This enabled them to import and export. Their economy was mainly based on them exporting their goods.

Townsend acts This act made a tax on everything the colonist bought for British companies. This made Colonist decide to boycott most all British company goods.
