Collaboration/Travel Training Program Networks: A Panel Discussion

Collaboration

Northeast Ohio Travel Trainers Collaborative

Networking

The Massachusetts Travel Instruction Network ATI Conference August 14, 2015

MassMobility Housed in the EOHHS Human Service Transportation Office  Coordinate transportation for 6 state agencies  Transport over 38,000 consumers in partnership with 6 Regional Transit Authorities Statewide initiative to increase mobility for people with disabilities, seniors, low-income commuters, veterans, and others who lack access to transportation  Raise awareness of services  Help foster, develop, and sustain efforts to increase mobility

Creating a Network 2012 – many new programs forming Focus group  discussion list  In-person meetings

Discussion List I had a simple question about when a trainer is training and there is a lag time between the trip going one way and the next bus coming the opposite way to get back. Should I plant a car to stay in until the bus comes by again or should I do the trip at two different times. There isn’t a coffee shop nearby to hang out and there is a 35 min lag time. Just wondering if you had any ideas.

In-Person Meetings Discussion & networking Workshops: working with trainees with Autism, working with trainees who are deaf or hard of hearing, partnering with O&M Specialists

Resources for New Programs

Informing Agency Policy Guidance on funding  Training  Helped draft RFR  Participated on selection committee Performance measures
