Identification Verification

Verification Required Election Day Registration Mail-in Only if Driver’s License # or Social Security # does not validate with either the DMV or SSA.

NOT Required Hand Delivery to Registrar’s Office Personal Delivery by Voter Voter Registration Drive Mail-In If the Driver’s License # or Social Security # validates with either the DMV or SSA. Includes FPCA Cards UOCAVA Voters

Election Day Registration Requires Verification Available On Election Day Absentee Polling Place

Election Day Proof of Residence Valid Driver’s License or Idaho ID Card issued through the DMV Document with a valid address in the precinct along with a photo ID Card. Students Current valid student identification card from a post-secondary education institution in Idaho with a current student fee statement that contains the student’s valid address in the precinct along with a picture identification card.

Registration by Mail First Time Voter for Federal Office A mail registration received from an elector who has not previously voted in an election for federal office in the state needs to be verified prior to the issuance of a ballot. Not required for FPCA Registration Applications.

Validation ISVRS attempts to validate the following information: Driver’s License number through the Department of Transportation. Name and Date of Birth through the Social Security Administration. If the system validates the voter’s identification, no further proof or action is required.

Information Does Not Validate Contact the individual to verify either the DL# or SSN Update either the DL# and SSN in ElectioNet and re-validate. Get the information to validate through ElectioNet. Important Election Day Registrations: Even if the DL# or SSN does NOT validate, they are a registered voter. However, try to get their record to validate.
